History

Anticipated deregulation of the electricity market saw the establishment of HYDRO Exploitation SA in 2002 by the founding shareholders. The latter wished to rethink their traditional operating structures. 

Operations were reorganized by activity: production, transport, distribution, trading and sales. The envisaged end result of this regrouping was the creation of strong centres of excellence, as well as optimal overall management.

Control of all hydroelectric operational activities by a new, specialist company, HYDRO Exploitation SA, was for the founders a cornerstone of this reorganization.
