Rehabilitation of Group number 3 at the Martigny-Bourg Station
The station rehabilitation work is in three stages. They will be completed in 2013. In 2011, work at the station involved:
- replacement of group 3 turbine and valve
- replacement of group 3 stator
- reconditioning of group 3 alternator terminals
- replacement of the alternator shafts
Particular attention has been paid to erosion resistance caused by the sand content in the water. All wearing parts were covered with a ceramic layer.
At the same time, taking advantage of the prolonged shut-down of the station, and with our support, the FMMB replaced the line valve of the pressure-pipeline. Repairs in the pressure tunnel have also been completed.
The commissioning of group 3 took place in mid-November 2011. During work, rehabilitation of group 2 was already started. Led by the project chief, Nicolas Gapany, in collaboration with the GIMB engineering team, the work will be spread out over the next two years until 2013 because of one rehabilitation a year (3 stages in all). Among the electromechanical suppliers are Norwegian Rainpower for turbines and valves, the French company Cegelec for alternators and the Swiss consortium FMO-Costronic for the instrumentation and control system as well as the electric section. The Prader Losinger Company has been engaged for the civil engineering work.
